Shiloh Church office by April 15th

Mark packet “Shiloh Scholarship Committee”.

Incomplete packets will be submitted as-is to the Scholarship Committee.

Late packets will not be accepted.

Faxed or e-mailed applications will not be accepted.

PERSONAL ESSAY (No more than one double spaced typed page)

  • Explain 3 specific ways you have grown personally and spiritually as a Member of Shiloh
    Metropolitan Baptist Church (High School Students) or Campus ministry while away at college?
  • What evidence have you shown to prepare yourself to receive and utilize this scholarship award?
    Please explain.

RECOMMENDATION LETTERS

Applicants must submit two (2) letters of recommendation (recommenders cannot be related to
applicants):

  • One letter of recommendation from a Church Volunteer or Leader who knows the
    spiritual stewardship of the applicant.
  • The second letter of recommendation must be from a current/ former Teacher,
    Guidance Counselor, Principal or Professor who knows the academic capabilities
    of the applicant.

Include the two (2) letters of recommendation in a sealed envelope with your completed
Scholarship Application Packet.

Verification of ministry /community involvement is not considered a Letter of Recommendation.
Recommendation letters must include the following information:

  • Applicant’s Name
  • Relationship to the student
  • Signature
  • Printed Name

Your letter of recommendation should be given to
you in a sealed envelope by the recommender.

A: Yes. This scholarship is for those attending accredited 2-year or 4-year institutions.

Q: If my application is rejected, can I apply next year?
A: No. The scholarship is for graduating high school students.

Q: How is the scholarship process reviewed and awarded?
A: The Scholarship Committee will make recommendations based on a review of all materials
submitted. The review process is blind, and is based on:

  • Academic Achievement & Involvement
  • Personal Essay
  • Letters of Recommendations
  • Ministry and/or Community involvement
  • Transcripts
